Chandler School takes Columbia

Recently we took a girl’s field trip to Columbia, SC and we visited the home of  Chandler School board of directors Tom and Cathy Persons. While there the girls visited the famous Columbia Zoo, toured downtown Columbia including the Governor’s Mansion, took a boat ride on the lake, made cookies at the Persons’ home and had a movie night. The girls were accompanied by Kelsey, Betty and Hartlee.

Chandler School’s New Limo

Scott Mann from Renegade Hybrids in Las Vegas has finished our latest project car and it’s headed our way soon.  This is a 1971 Datsun 240 Z and this is the car that our Chandler School Team Pirates will campaign in SCCA and NASA Autocross as well as Chump Car Endurance Racing.  Our kids have worked on this car for 12 months before we sent it away to Scott to receive its paint job and fine tuning. Now with the help of John Finger, we’re looking forward to getting the most out of this car. Our kids will participate as the crew and will perform all set-up issues prior to each race. At a race or autocross, the kids will get real world experience in geometry, math, organizational skills, problem solving, and critical thinking. Take a look at Scott’s video here:
